Erica Paschel, APC, NCC

My name is Erica!

During these tumultuous times, our mental health is more essential now than ever before. There's no time like the present to put your emotional and mental health at the forefront.

If you are struggling with complex or multigenerational trauma, mood disorders, anger management, life transitions, history of abuse, academic concerns, please give me a call. My work includes working with children, adolescents and young adults (ages 5 through 25) of Black, Brown and other marginalized communities to end toxic generational cycles of trauma and unhealthy patterns to increase wholeness, unity and balance.

My work is informed by a wholistic and integrative approach to TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) techniques. My approach is also shaped from a creative therapeutic lens that incorporates body techniques such as physical movement & dance (I have over 10 years experience in hip-hop, contemporary dance, African dance, praise dance and more!).

I also use free-association techniques through the use of song lyric analyses, painting, scribbling and creating meaningful melodies with individuals and groups to increase mindfulness, social skills, self-esteem, self empowerment, sense of identity, control, feelings of belonging, and processing of trauma and grief.

While attending Ball State University in 2017, I received a Bachelors in Psychology and then I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University in 2019. As a student, I participated in teacher assistantships in 'Prejudice and Discrimination', and 'Psychological Science of Personality'. I assisted with research in Diversity in microaggression-related projects that focused on race, gender, and professional relationship. Additionally, during my undergraduate program, I was a member of both the Black Student Association and the Latino Student Union.

Currently, I am accepting new clients who want affordable fees for counseling.

I currently hold an Associate Professional Counselor license in which I am mandated to work under close clinical supervision until my full licensure requirements are achieved.
