Gena Golden, MSW, LCSW

{currently not accepting new clients}

Hi I'm Gena. I'm a seeker of wisdom, wholeness and connection to divine spirit. I'm the mother of 2, wife, sistah, and friend to many. I am a trained social worker, integrative psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, social justice advocate and racial healing practitioner in private practice providing transformative support to BIPOC women. Although I see clients from all walks of life, I specialize in working with black, indigenous and women of color who need a safe space to process the problems they are most likely facing today like workplace micro-aggression, racial/historical/intergenerational trauma, 'church-hurt', grief, toxic relationships, self-esteem problems, social anxiety, childhood trauma and an unrelenting inner critic problem due to familial and societal pressures and assumptions.

Whatever your concern, difficulty or challenge, together we can explore new ways of thinking, behaving and being to transform your life. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and my role is to hold space with you as you work to heal yourself to the extent that you desire to do so.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, speaker, coach and author. I received my Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) from Temple University (1991) and my Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Clark Atlanta University School of Social Work (1993). My integrative approach encompasses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Hypnotherapy, Tapping (EFT), and Mindfulness Meditation.

My work and my walk with you may also include the use of complementary modalities including Neuroscience Based Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Reiki and Energy Medicine, Mindfulness Meditation, 'Sacred Women' work, Crystals and Essential oils. My approach is informed by a social justice and a multi-generational trauma lens that I believe is essential to healing the BIPOC community

I also conduct Immigration Evaluations to immigrant clients seeking: Asylum, U-Visa, I-Visa, VAWA and Extreme Hardship waivers.

Telemental health {online counseling} has been very useful for those clients that have had difficulties coming to the office because of proximity concerns, transportation barriers, physical challenges, time constraints, social anxiety or embarrassing problems they find difficult to disclose in person. I offer this service to Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee, Massachusetts and Utah residents.

~I look forward to working with you so that we can begin your journey toward the transformation you are seeking.
