If you are like me, then holding a book in your hands feels, well … pleasurable. Even the texture of the pages and the smell of the ink comforts me. Although I love a good read, I struggle to make the time to cuddle up with a book these days. Like most people, I have been distracted by local, national and world events. These events have sometimes kept me glued to the television or the internet instead of taking time to pour my own dose of healthy and helpful knowledge into my mind. But surprisingly (now that I see my list), I was able to get some reading time in!
Although I love the feel of a book in my hands I also enjoy listening to books on Audible or Kindle (some of you got to get with the times!). I enjoy audio books especially when I am driving about, taking a walk, or exercising.
Anyway, if you don’t have time to research your next book, here are a few books that I have read (and re-read) in 2016. Of course, old favorites like the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and You Can Heal Your Life can be read repeatedly. I never grow tired of a good classic and I always learn something new each time.
The book SHAPE was written by my dear sister friend Paula L. White. She is an amazing educator and mother who has a knack for simplifying structures to help children thrive at home, at school and in life (a must read!).
The books listed below have all (in their own way) offered me something special, something new, that opened me up to new insights and understanding. They each gave me a gift and fed my soul for a lifetime.
The list order is of no significance. I listed them as I saw them on my bookshelf :-)
